Free Rules For Poker Games

Texas Holdem Omaha 7 Card Stud 5 Card Stud Razz Triple Draw Chinese
Caribbean Stud Draw Video Poker 3 Card Poker Pia Gow Mexican Poker Pineapple

Basic Rules for Poker:

Go to " Player vs. Player " or " Player vs. House " Poker Rules
Games played in a poker room where if you win, you win money from another player, are Player vs. Player poker games such as Texas Holdem, Omaha, 5 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud, Triple Draw, Pineapple Poker , Mexican Poker, Chinese Poker, Razz, etc. Games that you win or lose money to the House (casino) are called table games or " Player vs. House " games. Table games are usually mathematically engineered so the house has a very small edge. These are games like; Caribbean Stud, Pia Gow Poker, Video Poker, Three Card Poker, etc. During poker room games a players edge is the skill level of each player. The house wins a small part of every pot played and therefore has no interest in who wins. It is paid by the winner. It is usually from 25 cents to $5. This page is a complete rules of poker list. You should find every poker game you wish to learn.

The Official rules of poker games change with who is running the game. The basic rules of poker are to make the best five card hand possible. The order of hands are listed on the poker hand ranking chart. An ante of some type is collected before the cards are dealt to build a small pot. Players are then dealt part of their hand and there is a round of betting. The players are then allowed to improve on their hand one or more times depending on the game with a round of betting after each draw. At the beginning of each betting round there are Five basic actions to make; Fold, Check, Bet, Call or Raise.

If a player has already bet or if a blind bet has already been made, they must fold their hand if they don't like it. If they want to continue playing they need to "Call " that amount or make a " Raise " to at least twice the value already bet. If there has been no action in front (before) you, you may " Bet ". The amount you may bet will vary with each game, but it must be at least the amount of the Big Blind.

If there has been no action in front of you and don't like your hand you are not forced to bet you may simply check. This states that you don't want to bet and are passing on your turn. If all players have checked to you, you may place a bet and each player is then forced to call your bet or fold. If all players check the dealer begins the next round.

If a player has made a bet in front of you and a second player has raised you may either fold, call up to the amount of the second raise or re-raise at least twice the amount of the second raise. Ex. First person bets 2 second person calls the 2 and raises 4 = total 6. You must call the 2+4 and raise at least 4 more to a total of 2+4+4=10. If there are more then two players in a hand they are limited to 1 bet and 3 raises (4 raises in some places). If it is heads up ( one on one ) there are unlimited raises. After every round of betting the last bettor shows their hand first if any other player calls.
